Jeanette Mills has danced at Fancy Feet Dance Studio since it opened in 1992,
appearing in every recital to date. She has studied with Emily Kay Tillman, Cheri Smith,
Anne Miller Clark, Lisa Spatrick, Monique Smith, and Mario Mosley. She majored in dance at
UCLA, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in World Arts and Cultures.
In the UCLA dance program, Jeanette's primary focus was tap. She choreographed and
performed original tap pieces, studied tap dance history, and participated in the historic
Women in Tap conference, all under the direction of Lynn Dally, founder of the renowned
Jazz Tap Ensemble. In addition, Jeanette has taken master classes from tap dance greats
such as Jason Samuels Smith, Dianne Walker, and Ray Hesselink.
When she is not teaching at Fancy Feet, Jeanette works at the Disneyland Resort,
performing in shows and parades, and stage managing guest performing arts groups from
around the country. She also choreographs children's theater including the 5th Grade
musicals at Marquez Charter School. Her choreography has appeared in the New York Musical
Theatre Festival and on NBC's Parenthood. Jeanette is also a photographer, specializing
in headshots, portraits, and dance photography:
